In Windows Vista and 7, click the Start button, select All Programs, select Accessories, and select the Snipping Tool from the list. The Snipping Tool is available in all versions of Windows Vista, 7, 8 and 10 except the Starter and Basic editions. Click the crop icon to preserve part of the image while trimming the rest. Click the ruler icon to display a ruler along the top of the screen. Click the highlighter icon to use a yellow highlighter to select certain text or areas.

There’s a shortcut to taking a screenshot of an active window. For me, PicPick and Print Screen shortcut are usually enough. For demonstrations I use PicPick, and for quickly sharing my view I just press Print Screen and paste the screenshot.
